Hello Divas! Spring is here! I have the runny nose, itchy eyes, and constant sneezing to prove it! Spring represents so many wonderful things. Time to get outside and perhaps time to let go of the old and welcome in the “new”! Spring can be an awesome time to learn something new!
For some of you, coming to our fitness class is something NEW and to that I say a huge WHOO HOO!
In honor of learning new things, I am reposting from my Peaceful Divas blog a post I did last year and linking up for Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop! Today’s post challenge was to post things that you can learn from your child(ren)–for me since I have two! Here ya go:
1. Dream Big—My girls have big dreams! I have to catch myself sometimes from “lovingly bringing them back down to reality”. They want to be doctors, artists, teachers and professional dancers all at the same time. I remember what it was like to be young and full of possibilities. Isn’t funny how as an adult our dreams get smaller and smaller? Sometimes I just want to make it to Friday. Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
2. Go to bed early—My youngest daughter has always been a good sleeper. No matter what is going on, sista girl will take it down when she gets tired. I tend to get wired when I get really tired and end up piddling around the house instead of going to bed. Her ability to go to bed at night is probably why she wakes up so pleasant in the morning! Psalm 127:2 It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
3. Give great hugs—I know I am partial but my girls give some of the best hugs around these parts! How many times have you received that fake half hug from someone? It feels like hugging an old mushy noodle! When the girls give me a hug, I can feel their love and concern for me. Their hugs are genuine. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…
4. Smile more—My girls are constantly smiling! They smile for no reason most times and they always greet me with enthusiasm and big smiles plastered all over their faces. Sometimes the day to day grind wipes the smile right off of my face without me even noticing until someone asks “What’s wrong?” Proverbs 15:13 A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
5. Dance all over the house—Now, I must admit that I love to dance so this is not a hard lesson for me to learn. Both of my girls are taking dance so they just love to come home and show me what they are learning. They do their routines all over the house! They also like to help me choreograph new fitness routines for our class. Dancing just plain makes me feel good! If you are one of those people who don’t dance—you are missing out—just sayin’! Psalm 30:11 You, have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy..
6. Ask questions—If I had a dollar for every time Aryonna (my oldest) asked me a question, I would be a millionaire! That child asks question after question until she understands or you say “no more questions”. James 4:2…..You do not have, because you do not ask.

How I WISH I could follow my kids lead and go to bed early!! That would solve so many of my cranky mornings. 🙂
