Made To Crave Bible Study-Empowered

Made to Crave Bible Study

Hello Divas and welcome to our newest Bible Study…Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst.  Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen.  If you are looking to:

Break the cycle of “I’ll start again on Monday,” and feel good about yourself today.

Stop agonizing over numbers on the scale and make peace with your body.

Replace rationalization that leads to diet failure with wisdom that leads to victory.

Reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process…….

This study is for you!

Please take note:  this study will not be a how-to manual or the latest, greatest dieting plan. Made to Crave is a helpful companion to use alongside whatever healthy eating approach you choose — a book and Bible study to help you find the “want to” in how to make healthy lifestyle changes.

We had an amazing time on Saturday during our first session!  Don’t worry if you are not in our area or if you are just joining us!

Here is what you need to do this week:

1.  Purchase the book Made to Crave

2.  Read chapters 1-3 and complete the few short discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

3.  Read our weekly blog posts AND comment (in the comment section) about how your week is going!

During our sessions on Saturday we watch the video lesson that goes along with the study.  One very important point Lysa made in the book and on the video is:

In order to eat healthier and make lifestyle changes, we need a how-to ( a plan on what to eat)but we also need a want-to (the spiritual motivation to make lasting changes.)

Every session, Lysa provides us with a word for the week.  This week, our word is EMPOWERED.

Just think about it.  Every time we say we are going to go on a “diet” and we swear off this or that, we end up feeling deprived.

This week, use Lysa’s tip of switching your perspective from deprived to EMPOWERED.  Yes those doughnuts your co-worker brought in look good but you can feel EMPOWERED by making the choice not to have some with God’s help….and not simply because you want to lose weight but because God made you wonderful (Psalm 39).  Even better, even if you chose to have a doughnut, you can choose to just have ONE!  EMPOWERED!

empowered

..may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 13:21
