Five Minute Friday-Confident

katina · February 15, 2019 · 4 Comments

Happy Friday Divas! A few years ago, Five Minute Friday was a weekly post for our blog.  I’m so happy God saw fit for it to come back periodically!

What is Five Minute Friday?  Glad you asked. Each week, Christian writers from all over the world write for five minutes on the same word and place a link to their posts on the Five Minute Friday Blog.  Today’s word is CONFIDENT.

Galentine's

The photo above was taken this past Wednesday, February 13, 2019, during our “Galentine’s Day Class”.  What is Galentine’s Day?  Galentine’s Day is a made up holiday occurring one day before Valentine’s Day and is all about showing love to your girlfriends.  It was created by a fictional character on the sitcom Parks and Recreation in 2010.

Although I have never watched the show, I love ANY reason to have fun with the ladies in my class aannnnnd since we host our classes at the Kernersville Parks and Recreation Center….well, of course, we had a Galentine’s themed class.  It took some extra planning time to get the playlist ready because the majority of the songs included either had the word Love in the title or Love/Amor was in the chorus of the song.  But it was a blast! We warmed up to Heavy D’s  “Now that we found love” and cooled down to a remix of Kirk Franklin’s gospel classic, “Love“. (EPIC!!)

What I thought was just a fun thing to do was actually way more than that to one of the ladies in class.  What she posted helped me be confident … small things matter:

Often we are confident God is calling us to some big things on large platforms in the future. We are so confident, we sacrifice the small, mundane, seemingly unimportant things needing our time and attention right now.  Isn’t it funny the small things are what make the difference in the lives of others?

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…” Luke  10:16

Yes, and we have to remind ourselves of that.
